There has been an increased focus on assuring the continuing fitness for purpose of existing installations, especially mature installations. Structures, plant, equipment or systems, which could either cause, or contribute to, a major accident, need to be effectively managed in order to prevent or limit the effects of failure.
For the upstream petroleum industry n support of the Health and Safety Executive Offshore Division’s Key Programme 3 the EI’s work is in support of the Health and Safety Executive Offshore Division’s Key Programmes 3 and 4 (KP3 and KP4) - Asset Integrity and Ageing and Life Extension Inspection programmes. The EI has led several technical initiatives that support the aims to encourage good practice in integrity management, continuous improvement, and minimise the potential for accidents.
In addition to the installation integrity resources listed, the EI also has titles that focus on process safety, hydrocarbon leak reduction and corrosion management training.
