The EI is developing a supplement to EI/JIG Standard 1530 to provide quality assurance requirements and good practice recommendations for the handling of synthetic (jet fuel) blend components (SBC) and synthetic aviation turbine fuel (SAVTUR).

Topics covered include the import, manufacturing, certification, storage and export of SBC, with key cross-references to EI/JIG Standard 1530 for equipment/installations, as well as blending of SBCs with conventional jet fuel/jet fuel components to produce SAVTUR. The scope covers quality assurance from point of manufacture of SBC to delivery of SAVTUR to aircraft.

The information contained in this proposed publication will be of significant interest to synthetic blend component (SBC) manufacturers, SAVTUR manufacturers and all those involved in jet fuel supply chains through to aircraft operators.

A draft of the proposed publication is issued for stakeholder review. If you would like to submit any technical feedback on the proposed requirements/recommendations of EI 1533, please do so using the template provided, emailed to mhunnybun@energyinst.org by COB on 7 July.
