Provides all those involved with subsea systems with good practice guidance on how to ensure that any subsea facility retains its integrity for the duration of the required field life cycle which may be significantly longer than the original design life. It is aimed at informing managers, designers, equipment manufacturers, fabricators, installers, operators, integrity and maintenance engineers and senior personnel of good industry practice in the management of design and maintenance of subsea systems.

The document is separated into two main parts: Part A presents and describes high level management policy and principles and a framework for achieving successful integrity management process; Part B provides recommendations and guidance to operators and managers on how to plan and manage system integrity and reliability throughout the complete life cycle of a system. As well as considering features that encourage integrity management and support maintainability during the design stage, the document also addresses how to manage integrity and reliability during operations through to decommissioning. It can therefore be applied to any subsea facility at any stage in its life.

The development of Guidelines for the management of integrity of subsea facilities was funded jointly by EI Technical Partners and Lloyds Register (EMEA) and was written and compiled under the direction of a steering group comprised of a cross-section of offshore operators, independent verification bodies and industry specialists. Although compiled under a UKCS context, this publication can be applied globally and will also be of interest to those working in onshore import terminals and similar installations requiring integrity management.
