There are approximately 31 million commercial flights per year (source: ICAO). The provision of fuel for these flights forms a significant part of the downstream business for many oil companies, into-plane agents and airlines. An aircraft is fuelled somewhere in the world every second! 

The EI’s aviation technical programme has an international remit, with the publications applicable worldwide. The EI Aviation Committee strives to assist in maintaining and improving what is an impeccable industry safety record. The majority of the technical work is conducted by the following sub-committees: Aviation fuel filtration; Equipment; Operations; Hydrant systems and supply chain fuel quality.
