Scope
This standard specifies a method for the determination of the boiling range distribution of petroleum products by gas chromatography using flame ionization or thermal conductivity detection. The standard is applicable to petroleum products and fractions with a final boiling point of 538 °C or lower at atmospheric pressure, and a boiling range of at least 55,5 °C, with a vapour pressure sufficiently low to permit sampling at ambient temperature. This standard is not applicable to crude petroleum, gasoline samples or fractions, or products containing a significant concentration of asphaltenes.
