This standard specifies two procedures for the determination of the pour point of crude petroleum down to a temperature of –36 °C. One procedure
(Procedure A) provides a measure of the maximum (upper) pour point, whilst the other procedure (Procedure B) provides a measure of the minimum
(lower) pour point. This standard is only applicable to crude petroleum; the pour point of petroleum products should be measured by IP 15.
