Scope

This standard specifies two procedures for the
determination of the pour point of crude petroleum
down to a temperature of –36 °C. One procedure
(Procedure A) provides a measure of the maximum
(upper) pour point, whilst the other procedure
(Procedure B) provides a measure of the minimum
(lower) pour point. This standard is only applicable
to crude petroleum; the pour point of petroleum
products should be measured by IP 15.
