Scope
This standard specifies a test method for the determination of the closed cup
flash point of solvents, kerosine, aviation turbine fuel, diesel fuel and
related products that are homogeneous and liquid at or near ambient temperature
and at temperatures required to perform the test, having flash points within the
range of -20 °C to 300 °C. However the precision given by this method is only
valid for flash points in the range 40 °C to 135 °C.
NOTE 1 - This method may also be used to determine the flash points of solvents but the precision for these materials has not yet been established.
