- REF/ISBN:
- Status: Current
- First printed in STM books: 2007
-
This standard specifies a method for the detection of substances corrosive to metal in lubricating grease under static conditions. The results do not necessarily correlate with greases operating under dynamic conditions.
NOTE 1 - As lubricating greases are employed under a diversity of conditions, it is not possible to specify either the temperature or the duration of the test, but it is recommended that the test temperature be not higher than 20°C below the drop or dropping-point of the sample.
