The Energy Institute organised a one-day conference on 2 November 2010 at the Aberdeen Marriott on the importance of the need to focus on ageing assets. The conference was sponsored by ABB Engineering Services and was based on industry guidelines being developed by the EI and featured case studies on managing ageing and life extension of gas compressor equipment.
The conference also included a structural theme; coatings management, structural failures and the integrity of cathodic protection systems. The day concluded by looking at subsea obsolescence and a forward look at a future EI project on corrosion in support of the HSE's KP4 programme.
