Scope
This standard describes a method for measuring the oil that separates from a lubricating grease under the conditions of test.
NOTE 1 - This method provides a guide to the behaviour of lubricating grease stored in can or drums. The method is not intended to predict the oil separation tendencies of the grease under dynamic service conditions.
NOTE 2 - The method can be used for semi-fluid greases but the precision for these materials has not been established.
