Scope
This method may be used to evaluate the following qualities of engine oils when used in supercharged compression-ignition engines operated under endurance conditions at high temperatures using a 1% S fuel.
The ability of the lubricating oil to prevent excessive piston groove deposits which could lead to ring sticking.
The ability of the lubricating oil to prevent the formation of excessive lacquer deposits on the piston.
