Scope
This standard specifies a method for the determination of the phosphorus content of gasoline, generally present as pentavalent phosphate esters or salts or both. This test method is applicable to the determination of phosphorus in the range of 0,2 mg/l to 40 mg/l.
NOTE 1 Phosphorus in automotive gasoline will damage catalytic emission control systems, but is also present in some automotive gasolines designated for older vehicles without such systems.
