This standard specifies a procedure for the determination of sulfur, vanadium nickel, iron, calcium, zinc and phosphorous by wavelength dispersive x-ray fluorescence spectrometry. The concentration ranges that this method covers are shown below:
Element Range mg/kg
Phosphorus 5 to 50
Sulfur 0,1 to 3,8 % (m/m)
Vanadium 5 to 400
Nickel 3 to 100
Iron 8 to 300
Calcium 8 to 100
Zinc 3 to 100
For the purposes of this standard, the expressions ‘% (m/m)’ and ‘% (V/V)’ are used to represent the mass and volume fractions respectively.
