This document provides guidelines for on-board blending of liquid hydrocarbon products, including gasoline, aboard vessels having appropriate certification. Liquefied gases and retail bunker deliveries are not considered. These guidelines are intended to assist those involved in cargo operations to combine multiple components into a homogenous product on board vessels (ships and barges) and will be of particular interest to vessel owners, terminal operators and cargo owners.
It should be noted that this guidance is not exhaustive and that cargo owners should make every effort to thoroughly evaluate safety requirements and the likely outcome of the blending operation in terms of the desired cargo quality.
