This document is one of a series of guidance documents on measurement of liquid hydrocarbons provided by the Energy Institute The guidance reflects best industry measurement practice and includes performance expectations. As this is given as guidance, local conditions, regulations, contract conditions may take precedence.
HM 11 second edition also provides some information on maintenance requirements, the verification of secondary instrumentation and flow computers used to derive the measurement of quantity delivered from the gantry system. It also offers guidelines to achieve the minimum levels of accuracy for the proving and adjustment of the meters required and expected by regulators and industry in the UK.
This document replaces former EI documents HM 11, HM14 – Meter proving. Section 5: Recommended UK operational practice for proving gantry meters fitted with electronic heads, HM 37 – Code for proving Gantry meters, and HM 48, Meter proving: Code of practice
for the proving of loading gantry meters.
