- Published: January 1999
- REF/ISBN: IGE/SR/24
- Edition: 1st
- Status: Current
Describes the principles of risk assessment techniques that can be used in any environment but which are especially suited to the onshore gas industry. Recommendations address the life cycle of plant and equipment i.e design, construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning and include HAZID, HAZOP, risk evaluation, probability modelling, failure data collection and analysis, and consequence analysis. The recommendations provided are laid out in a general format, so specific problems may need more detailed treatment. However, the recommendations provide the basis on which detailed procedures, appropriate to the circumstances, can be written.
