This report documents the discussions and recommendations from a G+ Safe by Design workshop which brought together industry experts to assess the hazards and management of risks related to materials equipment handling in offshore wind. The purpose of the workshop was to: 1) identify improvements that could be made within the constraints of current practices and technologies, and 2) assess how the equipment handling could be managed in the future.
Either recommendations for the industry on structured design process, contingency planning, management of change, equipment design and selection, lifting bag integrity management, hoist management, improving richness of data, and finally a join industry project to assess and unlock increased automation potential.
