This first edition of the SafetyOn good practice guidelines: Wind Turbine Generator High Voltage Access Awareness covers the minimum safety training requirements for all personnel (both electrical and non-electrical) accessing operational areas of WTGs which contain HV equipment and is intended to support a harmonised industry wide approach used as part of an established SSoW.

These guidelines:

− State the purpose of a wind generation site.

− Explain what is meant by HV equipment.

− Show the physical arrangements of typical WTGs indicating where HV equipment can be found.

− State the hazards and dangers associated with electricity and electrical equipment.

− Provide guidance of how to stay safe within a turbine containing HV equipment.
